The Seasons of Parenting

Most of us enjoy the different seasons. For me, Winter is a season to nest and slow down (except for at work); Spring, a season to clean house and get moving; Summer, a season for fun; and Fall, a season to go, go, go — be it work, school or family.
The Influence of the Seasons on Your Parenting Time and Capacity
When you think about parenting, many times it may help to think about the seasons in your lives—and not just the seasons as they pertain to the climate. Ask yourself:
When is the calendar the most demanding (such as during a travel sports season)?
When does the daily structure or schedule change — for better or for worse (such as summer when school is out)?
When does work create an unavoidable demand (such as tax season or spring improvements)?
There is no right or wrong to any of this, but an honest discussion of the seasons can help everyone have healthy expectations for parenting time and co-parenting responsibilities based on the demands of types of seasons.
